The IQ Performance Pro Click & Go is the first dog harness that fuses pulling harness and protection harness into one anatomical construction. Developed over 3 years together with veterinarians, physiotherapists and active dog sport handlers — Swiss Made.

The focus was free breathing, controlled force transfer, reduced pressure points, high freedom of movement and safe pull guidance under load.

Saddle Construction with Spinous-Process Tunnel

The back construction is modeled on modern horse saddles. A central tunnel runs along the spinous processes of the spine — pressure on the sensitive back structure is avoided, and the force transfer distributes evenly across the chest.

Pull Angle & Pressure Distribution

The pull point and construction of the harness are engineered so that force is redirected downward in a controlled way — instead of upward toward the throat. This lets the dog breathe more freely, work more powerfully, bark and hold more stably and move more freely.

Auto-Lock Quick-Release

The Click & Go version is equipped with Auto-Lock quick-release buckles — magnetically guided, mechanically locked:

All load-bearing components were tested in a break-load test — conducted by Herm. Sprenger, one of the most renowned manufacturers of high-grade hardware in the dog and equestrian sport sector:

• approx. 200 kg load in the buckle area
• approx. 390 kg load in the strap/ring area

The buckle itself remained functional.

Safety Through Redundancy

The buckles are placed on both sides of the harness. Even if a single buckle breaks, the dog stays secured via the second buckle — a safety feature that standard single-buckle harnesses don’t offer.

Is Cobra safer than Click & Go (Auto-Lock)?

Both versions handle the forces that occur in dog sport and K9 training — confirmed in the break-load test by Herm. Sprenger. The maximum pull load is limited by the harness construction itself, because the pull point is anatomically optimized. The Auto-Lock quick-release is a magnetically guided, mechanically locked buckle from the outdoor and tactical sector — tested in a temperature range of -29 °C to +65 °C, weather-resistant and glove-friendly (one-handed opening even with winter gloves). The choice between versions is therefore a matter of preference: Click & Go for fast, one-handed donning — Cobra for the classic tactical look and maximum mechanical load capacity.

What sets the Performance Pro apart from a classic protection harness?

Classic protection harnesses are often designed only for the durability of the harness itself — rugged straps, rugged hardware. What gets neglected is the load the harness puts on the dog’s body. The forces in protection work, K9 training and canicross don’t just hit the material — they hit the dog: cervical spine, throat, shoulder joints, chest. Wide webbing or classic saddle constructions are critical here in particular: they often press directly onto the spine and restrict shoulder movement — an observation dog physiotherapists confirm regularly. With the wrong pull angle, the injury risk from flipping over adds to that. The Performance Pro was developed against these problems from the start: saddle construction with central spinous-process tunnel (pressure-free over the spine), controlled force redirection downward, free shoulder movement. Material load capacity (Sprenger break-load test) AND anatomy integrated into one system.

Which size do I need for my dog?

There are 4 individually adjustable sizes. We give weight-based recommendations — exact measurements are in the size chart. What matters most for fit: the harness must sit correctly at the neck opening — it should sit a few centimeters above the sternum, not directly on the sternum. That keeps the front legs free to move and routes force through the saddle construction.

Why does the Performance Pro reduce the injury risk?

With any leash work, there is a risk the dog flips over — as soon as it jumps or drives forward with momentum. In protection work this happens especially often on misses: the dog snaps at the decoy, misses, momentum catapults it backward, and the dog flips over. With classic harnesses that have a high-set pull point, this effect amplifies — the dog gets yanked back at the top of the neck and can’t catch itself. Injuries like psoas strains, cervical spine issues or shoulder overload are the result. The Performance Pro sets the pull point anatomically lower — the force is redirected downward, the dog stays centered and stable, no yanking at the neck. The saddle construction distributes the load evenly across the chest. The injury risk drops significantly.

How do I care for the harness?

Wipe down with lukewarm water, air dry. Check the buckle mechanism regularly for dirt — especially with sand, mud or salt water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
